May 1953?

Dear Mother,

I hope this finds you and Father in the best of health and spirits for Mother's Day and thereafter.

Warren is fine again after his tonsilitis and threatened recurrence. Four of us enjoyed the Jefferson Spring Concert last night, the annual event which you and Father and Robert and I attended in '52. Robert was playing this year. He looked mighty dapper in white and navy with Wilford's black bow tie for a final dressy touch.

Wilf and I were at a Red Cross workers' dinner at a swank hotel Wed.

Doug is recovering from a painful siege of trench mouth. Has been out of school over 2 weeks. My cold is almost better. The heat wave has helped, no doubt.

Love, Catherine.
