The Photographs of Wilford E. Park

For many years Dr. Wilford Park took black and white photographs with a folding bellows Kodak camera. By 1955 these had accumulated to several thousand prints, which were stored in a drawer built into the base of library shelves at his home on Humboldt Avenue in Minneapolis. Most of these prints were discarded around the time of his third marriage in the fall of 1955, but a few were saved for his children.

By that time Dr. Park was also taking 35 mm color slides with a Canon single lens reflex camera. This is the camera he took on vacation trips in later years. Most of these slides survive, but have not been scanned for display on the Internet.

The following links connect to two galleries of black and white photographs taken by Dr. Park. They feature photos taken in Canada from 1930 to 1951, and photos taken in the United States from 1938 to 1958. The latter gallery includes one color print which was probably made from a 35 mm slide. The captions show what Dr. Park wrote on the back of each print.
